[TOP 10] Best kpop dances

Dancing a is a huge part of the kpop world. Every song has it own dance and fans love to learn them too! Dance practices often get a lot of views! So I am counting down my top 10 kpop choreographies.

  1. SHINee || Lucifer

    Lucifer is an amazing song and the choreography of the song is equally amazing. It is really tight and fast and just looks really cool. It got me under a spell (bad lyrics pun)..
  1. TWICE || Like ooh ahh

    TWICE is my favorite rookie group and the song like ooh ahh was their debut. The dance is really cute and has great visuals. I especially like Momo’s part in the break down.
  1. Girls’ Generation || Gee

    Gee is one of the most iconic kpop music videos and the dance is also very iconic. It is really cute with lot’s of aegyo. I just really like this girly girl dance!
  1. EXO || Overdose

    EXO is my favorite group when it comes to dancing. Overdose is actually a song by EXO-K, but they all dance together. I especially love the part when half the group is sitting down and the other half “controls” them.
  1. BTS || Dope

    Dope is my favorite BTS song and that is mostly because of the choreography. The dance is really fast and neat. I looks bad ass too be honest!
  1. EXO || Call me baby

    Call me baby was the first music video in which the dance stood out to me. Of course any dance looks better with 10 people dancing it, but the dance also looks great in covers. It is really fast, but really cool!
  1. EXID || Up & Down

    Up & Down is the only girl group choreography to make it into my top five. The dance is just a lot of fun to watch and I can’t wait to learn it! My favorite part is the second verse, it’s just a lot of fun!
  1. Taemin || Drip drop

    SHINee’s Taemin made his solo debut with the song Drip Drop. The music video is pure dance, but holy shit can he dance. It looks incredible and very difficult. Level impossible dancing there!
  1. GOT7 || If you do

    The if you do just looks awesome if I am honest, the footwork is amazing and I love the part where Jackson falls into the group and Yugyeom comes out!
  1. EXO || Growl

    Like I said before, EXO is my favorite group when it comes to dances. And Growl is my favorite dance. It looks really neat and powerful. I especially love the ground dancing part!

[35 SONGS] Happy kpop playlist

Just a list of my favorite kpop songs that make me happy!

Best kpop of February 2016

February was a AMAZING month when it came to kpop song releases. A lot of my favorite groups made a comeback and there were some great debuts! It was hard for me to make a top 10, but here it is!

  1. Cosmic Girls – MoMoMo

    Cosmic Girls is a twelve member girl group from STARSHIP who debuted this February with the song MoMoMo. I love the song a lot! Yes, STARSHIP is playing it safe with this mainstream cute concept, but you can’t possible hate something that is done right!
  1. Lim Jeong Hee – Crazy

    Lim Jeong Hee started her music career in 2005 under JYP Entertainment, but left there last year. Crazy is her first song under her new company; Oscar ENT. I personally think Crazy is a amazing song, it’s beautiful and heart breaking and her voice is really powerful in it!
  1. Taemin – Press your number

    Teamin from SHINee made his solo debut with Drip Drop and Press your number. Out of the two Press your number is my favorite, I really enjoy the vibe the song gives and I can’t stop listening to it! Teamins voice is really beautiful and his whole album is just amazing! The music video for this song is also great, it really feels like watching a short movie.
  1. Ladies Code – Galaxy

    Ladies Code is back after losing two member due to a horrible car accident… The new song Galaxy has a really dark vibe, but I quite love that. The song stands out against other kpop songs because of it.
  1. RAINBOW – Whoo

    RAINBOW is one of those kpop groups that have been around for ages (since 2009). Last year they had a big hit with their song “Black Swan”, but it wasn’t anything like the RAINBOW songs before. With Whoo they went back to their old vibe and I am thankful for it. Just the old RAINBOW vibe is really retro and fun!
  1. MAMAMOO – You’re the best

    Talking about fun retro songs, here is another one. You’re the best from MAMAMOO is a great and original song about love. The song and music video are both fun to watch and it is no surprise that the song is winning all the awards and made a clean all-kill on the charts.
  1. Koh Nayoung – Whom?

    You might have never heard of Whom before, since Koh Nayoung is extremely underrated. But I personally love it! It has a old Avril Lavigne vibe to it which I absolutely love and I just love this song! It deserves more popularity that it got.
  1. B.A.P – Feel so good

    B.A.P is back with a quite surprising song. The only B.A.P song I knew before this was “Young, Wild and Free” which is a emo vibe song. But now they are back with Feel so good, a cute and happy retro concept and I love it. The song is just a lot of fun and makes me really happy when I listen to it!
  1. 4MINUTE – Hate

    4MINUTE is one of my favorite groups, the girls in it are bad ass! Their new song Hate is amazing as well. Many fans don’t really like it and claim it sounds like two songs at the same time, but that’s why I love it. It is really interesting to listen too and the music video has some great visuals.
  1. AOA CREAM – I’m jelly BABY

    I’m jelly BABY is one of my new all time favorite songs! The debut song of the AOA sub-unit is amazing, extremely catchy and addictive. The music video is also fun and just I love everything about it. I think I’m jelly BABY is even better than the songs from AOA.

A playlist of kpop song for when you need a good cry!

Girls’ Generation breaks their own record

Girls’ Generation has become so popular that the only thing left to do was break their own records. Which they did with “I got a boy”. The song has broken their own record of the most viewed music video by a girl group (this was “Gee” before).

The song and music video for I got a boy were released on January 1st 2013. It became a critic and fan favorite with over 10 millions views in the first 55 hours. It also won the Video of the year award at the very first Youtube Music Awards in 2013.
And I got a boy is clearly still a popular song, having over 157 million views today (10/03/16)!

The top 5 most viewed music videos by girl groups now looks like this:

  1. Girls’ Generation – I got a boy
  2. Girls’ Generation – Gee
  3. 2NE1 – I am the best
  4. Girls’ Generation – The boys
  5. F(x) – Electric shock

[TOP 10] Favorite Girls’ Generation songs

Girls Generation was the first kpop group I ever listened to. They started my obsession and are still my favorite girl group! So today I am counting down my top 10 Girls Generation songs!

  1. All my love is for you (2012)

    All my love is for you is actually a song in Japanese and not Korean. But in my opinion it’s the most beautiful ballad Girls Generation has ever made. The song is really adorable!
  1. Beginning (2007)
    Beginning is one of my favorite songs from the early days of Girls Generation. The song has a cute rockish vibe, very much like the music G-Friend is releasing these days. The song is just fun and cute!
  1. Lion heart (2015)

    Lion heart is the title song from the 2015 Lion heart album. The song has a very vintage vibe and the music videos is among my favorite of the year. I love how this song stands out from other kpop songs and the vintage vibe it has!
  1. Lazy girl (2011)
    Lazy girl is such a fun song to listen to! And hey, I can definitely relate to the lazy part. I just smile whenever this song comes on because it is so much fun!
  1. Genie (2009)

    Again Genie is just a fun song to listen to with a catchy beat. The first time I heard this song was in a rather emotional scene in the kdrama Dream High and now it is forever linked to that scene in my mind. It’s a huge part of why I love it!
  1. Talk talk (2014)
    Talk talk is a track from my favorite Girls Generation album; I got a boy. This song is a great summer song with a vibe that reminds me of my other favorite girl group, F(x).
  1. Run devil run (2010)

    Run devil run is one of the most iconic Girls Generation songs and for a reason. The song is a great example of the general Girls Generation style and again just fun! Girls Generation is just fun!
  1. Gee (2009)

    Gee is the most iconic Girls Generation song ever and one of the most iconic kpop songs. It’s the song that really made Girls Generation the legends they are today. I love the song, it was the first song I had to listen to on repeat! The catchy beat will make you love the song instantly and the music video is adorable. They were so young and cute!
  1. I got a boy (2014)

    My favorite Girls Generation title song (and probably my favorite title song in general) is I got a boy. It has a catchy beat and easy to sing along lyrics. The song also has a lot of twists which makes it super interesting to listen to, especially the first time. I just really love this song and I can’t help but dance to it!
  1. Green light (2015)
    Green light is another song that I can’t describe with any other words than fun. This song really makes me happy whenever it comes on, it just has the PERFECT summer song vibe! And I really believe it should have been a title song!

Mental disorders in Kpop

Mental disorders of idols is not talked about very often in the kpop community, there is kind of an taboo on it. We often forget that kpop idols are human too with extremely stressful jobs! So today I am taking the time to discuss this issue, by explaining the most common mental disorders in among kpop idols.

Note: I will only use examples of idols who admitted they have a mental disorder. There might be a lot more who haven’t officially admitted it!

Depression
A lot of people believe that a single bad day or a little bit of a down mood is a depression, but this is not the case. Real depression is a mental disorder! A person with depression has an extremely down mood for days, weeks or even years. There tons of different types of depression with different symptoms, but they all share a basis of low mood and low energy.

Some popular idols with depression:

Park Bom (2NE1)
Taeyeon (SNSD)
Yoona (SNSD)
Leetuk (Super Junior)
Heechul (Super Junior)
Yesung (Super Junior)
Suzy (Miss A)
G-Dragon (Big Bang)
Onew (SHINee)

Eating disorders
With the pressure idols are under to be “beautiful” and “thin”, it is no surprise that some end up with eating disorders. Eating disorders are about more than just food. For a person with an eating disorder, not eating has become an obsession. People with eating disorders go to extreme measures to eat as little as possible and often starve themselves. This is to create their “ideal” body type, but the truth is that they will never reach this because the brain of a person with a eating disorder will always them they are too fat.

Some popular idols with eating disorders:

IU
Sojung (Ladies code)
Park Gyuri (KARA)
Key (SHINee)

Insomnia
Insomnia is a sleeping disorder in which the person has difficulty falling asleep, wakes up often in the middle of the night, wakes up very early and/or wakes up tired. Almost all people have this sometimes, but people with insomnia experience this over a long period of time which leads to general tiredness, low energy and concentration loss.

Some popular idols with insomnia:

Jonghyun (SHINee)
Amber (F(x))
Lee Joon (MBlaq)

Anxiety
A person who suffers from an anxiety disorder lives in constant worry and/or fear, to the point where it interferes with the ability to lead a normal life. It isn’t clear why people suffer from anxiety disorders, but most times this is because bad past events (like bullying) or stress.

Some popular idols with anxiety

Sunggyu (Infinite)
Jonghyun (SHINee)

Self-harm
Okay, as far as I know there is only one idol who publicly admitted to struggle with self harm, but I did want to mention this disorder real quickly. Self harm is an addiction in which the person is addicted to hurting themselves, usually by cutting themselves. People who do self harm feel like they have no other choice but to hurt themselves, often to forget/deal with emotional pain.

Popular idol who self harms:

Key (SHINee)

[TOP 10] Favorite GOT7 songs

GOT7 is my ultimate bias band and I love them to bits! That’s why I wanted to make a post just about them, so here is my top 10 GOT7 songs!

  1. Eyes on you (2015)
    Eyes on you is a mid tempo song about the beauty of a girl. I love the song for it’s melody and chorus. I think it’s cute!
  1. She’s a monster (2014)
    She’s a monster has a lot of twists in it which makes it interesting to listen to! Lyrically the song about a girl who is so perfect that there is no way she is human!
  1. Feelin’ good (2015)
    Feelin’ good is a song with a general happy and energetic vibe to it. I haven’t found a translated version of the lyrics so I can’t be sure what it is about, but I suspect just a happy day!
  1. Magnetic (2014)

    Magnetic is a happy feel good song about love! And it just makes me happy!
  1. If you do (2015)

    If you do is the title song from the 2015 MAD mini album and it’s just an amazing song. The music video is much darker and mature than any video before this. The song is about a guy who’s girlfriend is basically a heartless bitch.
  1. Before the full moon rises (2015)
    Before the full moon rises is a mid tempo song about a werewolf who needs to get away from his girlfriend? I’m pretty sure it’s a metaphor for something… I really think their voices sound especially beautiful in this song.
  1. A (2014)

    A is the title track from the 2014 Got Love mini album. It’s another love song. But the music video is a lot of fun to watch and the song is great. I just love the song!
  1. Back to me (2015)
    At this point it’s safe to say Just Right is my favorite GOT7 album, as Back to me song is another track from this album (and not the last one on this list). This song is about wanting your partner back after a break up. The song is just a lot of fun to listen to and to jam on!
  1. Just right (2015)

    Just right is the title song from the 2015 Just Right mini album and the first GOT7 song I ever listened to. I love it! The music video is a lot of fun to watch and the lyrics are perfect. The song is a feel good song directed towards girls with low self esteem and telling them they are just right. I can get emotional just talking about how happy this song makes me!
  1. Forever young (2014)
    My favorite GOT7 song is “Forever young” from the Got Love mini album. I think the song is just beautiful and their voices have never sounded better than during this song. The melody is mid tempo and the whole song is just perfect to daydream on. Lyrically the song is about sharing a special moment with the person you love and in that moment they will be forever young. It’s just such a cute and beautiful song! And I am not the only person to whom this song is special, Mark also said this was a special song to him!
